Two Powerhouse Affiliates, Brown Harris Stevens and Strutt & Parker, Host Christie's Art Event at Manhattan Penthouse Listed at U.S. $37.5 Million

Condominium with wraparound views of New York previewed 17 works by masters such as Jasper Johns, Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat

New York, New York – The significance of networking to market and sell high-value assets was obvious when two exclusive Affiliates of Christie’s International Real Estate co-hosted an art preview at a Manhattan penthouse.

London-based Strutt & Parker partnered with New York’s Brown Harris Stevens to invite select clients to view art to be auctioned at the November 16th Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sales at Christie’s. Heads of the sale, Alex Berggruen and Joana Szymkowiak, were on hand to speak to the art while listing agent, Frans H. Preidel, was available to talk about the real estate. London clients were in attendance as were those from New York.

"The overlay of clients and asset classes, with experts from both categories in this intimate and elegant setting, created a synergy which was quite profound. We succeeded in cementing existing client relationships, forged new ones, all while demonstrating our network’s global reach and unparalleled strategic partnership with Christie’s, the world’s leading art business," said Dan Conn, CEO, Christie’s International Real Estate.

One Beacon Court, the masterpiece of architect Cesar Pelli, is considered one of the premier condominiums in New York, offering ultimate privacy and a full array of pampering amenities. At well over 750 feet in the sky, the 12-foot windows of the penthouse frame uninterrupted north, west and south exposures - one of the more astonishing and expansive Manhattan views ever available for purchase – frame vistas spanning from the East River to the Hudson and from the Freedom Tower to the George Washington Bridge. The north side of this expansive residence is on full display for the public living areas, the south facade is reserved for the master suite. A central gallery connects the public and private quarters. This gallery is perfectly proportioned for showcasing art.

“We enjoyed the experience of seeing highlights from our November auctions in such an elegant and elevating locale. The contemporary aspects of the apartment enhanced the most compelling components of our works, and the timeless nature of the space’s aesthetic paired perfectly with the more historical paintings and works on paper we presented. The crowd was lively and asked all the right questions about the nuances behind the works on view," said Alexander Berggruen, Head of Afternoon Sale, Christie’s Post-War & Contemporary Art.
