Sandy Lane Architects in Florida win awards from the Treasure Coast Builders Association

The Treasure Coast Builders Association (TCBA) held their inaugural Laurel Awards Dinner on November 2nd at the Legacy Golf & Tennis Club in Port St. Lucie, FL.  Sponsored by the Green Building & Remodeling Council of the TCBA, the Laurel Awards competition celebrates excellence in the “Green” building industry as well as projects that are environmentally friendly or energy efficient and for craftsmanship, design, and architecture.  The Laurel Awards have been created to promote energy conservation and sustainability and to promote the use of environmentally friendly products and recyclable or recycled products in the construction of homes and commercial buildings throughout the Treasure Coast.

YRA Design Inc. were big winners for the evening, they received three awards all with perfect scores.  The categories included Best in Landscaping / Outdoor Living Space, Craftsmanship and Residential Construction greater than 4,500 square feet for the Sandy Lane Project in Vero Beach, FL

A month prior to the dinner, a judging team of industry professionals from around the state, reviewed the entries that were entered into the competition.  Each entry must meet minimum criteria of 70 points in order to qualify for an award in their category. 

Numerous guests attended the dinner to honor their peers and to enjoy the showcase that was presented of the excellent work being produced in the Treasure Coast area.

Highlights of the evening were the Green Building Awards.  First category for “Green” Residential - Construction less than 2,500 square feet, the award winner was Homecrete Homes for their Summer Days model. The second award for “Green” Commercial - Remodel less than 10,000 square feet, was presented to Crossroads Architecture for their Seacoast National Bank project.

Another big winner was Kirchman Construction of Stuart with three Awards, as well!  They received top honors for the Best  Kitchen  Remodel  up to $30,000, for the Best Remodel - Commercial  Interior and for Best Commercial  Construction over  10,000 square feet. 

Other winners included: Rogers Design for Best Kitchen Remodel over $30,000; Sawhorse Construction for Best Residential Interior Remodel  and Golden Age Living & Karen Kane Interiors for Best Commercial Construction less than 10,000 square feet.
