Immobilsarda got the mandate for La Selva Estate, Tuscany, Italy

Siena, Tuscany, Italy La Selva Estate is an enchanting estate, located in the heart of Tuscany, just 15 km from Siena. The property is represented by ImmobilSarda s.r.l., exclusive Affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate.

The estate boasts a striking position amidst 900 hectares of land, composed by three different areas which include Castello della Selva, Il Borgo, which is the main house and the farmhouses: the Formigiano houses and the Castel di Notte.

Built built between 900 and 1400, Castello della Selva, Il Borgo is the main residence of the estate which was originally the summer residence of the noble Family of Tolomei Pucci Sansedoni. At 1200 sqm, this aristocratic villa offers 14 bedrooms, three formal reception rooms, six other living rooms, two kitchens and a study. The estate also features a swimming pool with sauna and gym.

The Formignano Houses are three colonial farmhouses with stunning panoramic views over the lake surrounded by woodland. The houses are built on three levels of the hillside, and have been restored to be used as holiday homes.

Castel di Notte is a beautiful stone built farmhouse, located on the most peaceful area of

the Estate. The property is reached by a private road passing through the magnificent

countryside and boasts enchanting views over the Murlo Valley.

The whole Estate has been restored in accordance with principles aiming to preserve the architectural originality of the ancient complex, to improve the way of life in the borgo, but maintaining also its original features including painted ceilings and paintings dating back to the 14th century. 

Other areas of the estate include horse paddocks, stables and ménage, barns and outbuildings as well as a private chapel built in 15th century is still functioning on special occasion.

La Selva Estate is renowned for its agricultural activity based on the cultivation of prestigious

vineyards and olive trees as well as horse paddocks, barns and outbuildings. Limousine cattle and American style Quarter Horses are well- known for its breeding and training of American style Quarter Horses.

Vineyard:

Currently 14.55 hectares of which 10 are enrolled in Chianti DOCG and 4.55 hectares as IGT The vineyards were replanted between 2000 and 2002.

These vineyards produce the well-known and celebrated wine Testamatta receiving awards from the best national and foreign magazines and at major events related to wine. (Best red wine in 2006 at Bourdeaux, best Italian red wine for Wine Spectator Magazine in 2006)

The exceptional "terroir" - altitude, microclimate, quality ' and soil type - contributes to the excellent quality 'of vineyards.

All the necessary equipment and facilities for working the land and the complete management of the vineyards are available.

Until 2006 Tenuta della Selva Srl produced and marketed its own brand wine in west and east coast of the United States, Canada, Japan, Europe, Germany, England obtaining various awards over the years.

 

Olive Oil:

12 acres of olive trees with a production of about 20 quintals of extra virgin olive oil.
