Nikita Shiel-Rolle

Nikita Shiel-Rolle is a Bahamian real estate professional, conservation biologist, social entrepreneur, and systems thinker who brings a rare combination of luxury property expertise and a global perspective. As an estate agent with H.G. Christie and Christie’s International, she specializes in waterfront estates, island lifestyle properties, and has a passion for equestrian homes and art-inspired residences.

Based on Cat Island, Nikita is the Founder and CEO of Young Marine Explorers (YME Bahamas) and the Cat Island Conservation Institute, initiatives that have transformed ocean education, youth leadership, and community engagement across The Bahamas. For nearly two decades, she has trained young Bahamians as divers, scientists, and environmental leaders, building one of the region’s most innovative models for ocean literacy and social impact.

Expanding her work internationally, Nikita co-leads PlanetWerx, an organization at the intersection of climate strategy, regenerative development, technology, and cultural diplomacy. She drives cross-sector collaborations that use digital innovation, data-driven solutions, and smart environmental technologies to reimagine how communities interact with natural systems, connecting island nations, mountain communities, and coastal states in a shared mission for sustainable development.

Nikita is also a founding architect of the Ethiopian Ocean Institute (EOI), a visionary 25-year initiative advancing ocean science, regional cooperation, and peacebuilding in the Horn of Africa. Inspired by YME Bahamas and guided by frameworks such as the UN Decade of Ocean Science and the African Union Blue Economy Strategy, the Institute fosters an African-led ocean knowledge ecosystem.

An alumna of the University of Miami, the University of Edinburgh, and a Zoological Society of London EDGE Fellow, Nikita is a sought-after speaker on ocean leadership, climate justice, and community science.
