Bordeaux : Chinese wine connoisseur purchases Chateau Mylord

The Bordeaux vineyard experts Maxwell-Storrie-Baynes, Exclusive Affiliates to Christie International Real Estate announce the sale of Chateau Mylord, Bordeaux Superieur located in Grezillac, held by the Large family for five generations, to a Chinese wine connoisseur from Hong Kong.

Wines are being made by traditional methods and partially matured in oak barrels. Some new techniques are being studied in order to obtain the best expression of the outstanding terroir on which Milord stands. Michael Baynes, executive partner at Maxwell-Storrie-Baynes said; “it has been a pleasure to work with such a knowledgeable Chinese gentleman whose appreciation of wine and sensitivity to the chateau’s history greatly assisted the transition of the estate.”
Karin Maxwell added that “by the end of 2013 we expect that the total number of Bordeaux chateaux owned by Chinese nationals will have risen to over 60 which represent more than 20 transactions in the past 12 months.”
