New on the Market: Gerard Dépardieu's Hotel Particulier in Paris

Daniel Féau, Christie's International Real Estate Exclusive Affiliate in Paris is marketing the property

Daniel Féau Conseil Immobilier, Christie's International Real Estate exclusive Affiliate in Paris, is marketing the Hôtel de Chambon, located in Paris' 6th arrondissment, rue du Cherche -Midi.

The 1,800-square-meter (19,375-square-foot) property notably comprises a listed Empire-style Hotel Particulier dating from 1820 and constructed for Baron Chambon, who was at the time in charge of the French army's financial administration.

Noted interior designer Jacques Garcia contributed to the property’s renovation. Dépardieu himself took charge of the reorganization and decoration of the second building on the other side of the gardens of the Hotel Particulier. This building, formerly used as a theatre, was subsequently transformed into a superb minimalist space bathed in sunlight and opening onto the gardens.

A poetry lover, the actor entrusted the decoration of the façade to visual artist Bernard Quentin who, using Corten steel, created in his “Babelweb” pictorial language a poem in homage to Confucius.

Featuring several outdoor areas, gardens, and terraces, the Hôtel de Chambon is located just next to the “Petites Sœurs de la Visitation” Convent's main gardens, accentuating the impression of a countryside setting while in the very heart of the 6th arrondissment.

The property is marketed exclusively by the Daniel Féau Saint-Germain-des Prés Agency. For more than 65 years, Daniel Féau Conseil Immobilier has specialized in the sale of exceptional apartments and private mansions in Paris' most desirable areas.
