Christie’s International Real Estate Celebrates Asian Art Week In New York
Christie’s International Real Estate, the world’s leading luxury real estate network and a subsidiary of Christie’s auction house, is proud to announce its participation in Christie’s 2013 Asian Art Week within the company’s New York City showroom from September 17-20. Throughout the event, representatives of the exclusive luxury real estate affiliate network will provide a strong industry presence as Christie’s—the global leader in Asian art—hosts a series of eight sales, showcasing rare works of art and distinguished private collections from China, Japan, Korea, India and beyond.
During the auction event, affiliates of Christie’s International Real Estate will oversee an exclusive lounge area in which auction patrons will be able to enjoy refreshments and interact with guests from around the world. The event will also give attendees an opportunity to cultivate relationships with buyers from the emerging Asian art market, as well as the Christie's client base and growing global audience.
The lounge will feature a multimedia presentation of luxury real estate listings, available for sale by the affiliated brokerages in attendance—Brown Harris Stevens of New York, David Ogilvy & Associates of Greenwich, CT, EWM Realty International of Miami, FL, and Hilton & Hyland of Beverly Hills, CA. Brochures, magazines and detailed information on luxury offerings, as well as corporate information written in both Chinese and English, will be available to guests. Christie’s International Real Estate and affiliate representatives will be on-hand during show hours to answer questions and provide insight into luxury real estate markets worldwide.
“Christie’s International Real Estate proudly serves as the art world’s only real estate company, and we are delighted to participate in Christie’s Asian Art week and illustrate the synergy between the two sectors,” said Bonnie Stone Sellers, Chief Executive Officer of Christie’s International Real Estate. “Our participation in Asian Art Week also underscores our deepening commitment to Asia, an increasingly important market for our global network.”
Christie’s Asian Art Week will showcase exceptionally rare Asian masterworks, including paintings, ceramics, jade carvings, and archaic bronzes from some of the most respected private collections. The event will be highlighted by three sales devoted to ceramics and works of art from china: Important Chinese Archaic Bronzes from a Distinguished Private Collection, A Collecting Legacy: Fine Chinese Jade Carvings and Works of Art from The Lizzadro Collection (Part II), and Fine Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art. Christie’s concluded its Spring Asian Art Week in March with a combined total of U.S. $80.4 million achieved over four days of eight sales.
