Lila Delman Real Estate International Sponsors the 15th Anniversary American Civilization Awards Gala

NEWPORT, RI – Lila Delman Real Estate the Christie’s International Real Estate exclusive affiliate in Rhode Island, is honored to bring together art and architecture in this celebration of the arts at the historically renowned National Museum of American Illustration.

Celebrating its 15th anniversary, the gala will take place Thursday July 30th from 6 pm until midnight and will include a night of dancing, dinner, libations, and reminiscing at the art for auctions.

Lila Delman Real Estate International along with the NMAI are both strong believers in history and architecture. Lila Delman has now restored three historic buildings that now serve as three of their offices, one in Newport, Providence and Narraganset; The National Museum of American Illustration is located at Vernon court (1898) and is an adaptation of an early 18th century French Chateau. This architectural connection emphasizes the artistic physique that both Lila Delman and the NMAI are encompassed with.

The Auction will be displaying fine works from artists such as Howard Chandler Christy, Norman Rockwell, Harrison Fisher, Mead Schaeffer, and several other artists. Two weeks prior to Gala on July 30th, the auction will be online and will conclude at the live auction at the Gala itself. The benefit of this auction is that all of the proceeds from the sales will go to the NMAI’s Endowment Fund.

A special presentation of the American Civilization Award will honor three distinguished Laureates for their contributions to Popular American Culture. The three Laureates are Matt Lauer, Evangeline Lilly, and Paul Szep. Lauer is Host Anchor of NBC News’ Today Show. Lilly is an accomplished actress and a passionate advocate for the arts whether that be on the screen or collaborating with illustrators. Szep is an art school graduate who was Boston Globe’s editorial cartoonist for 35 years. He has achieved many awards for his illustrations and cartooning. Matt Lauer said “Paul’s pen is the editorial cartoonist equivalent of a Cruise Missile.” All three of this people have been recognized for their devotion to the arts and for their contributions to Popular American Culture.
