Emma’s ancestry in the Bahamas began with the Eleutheran Adventurers, the first settlers of the modern Bahamas in 1648. Born and educated in Nassau, Emma spent extensive periods of her childhood in Eleuthera and the Exuma islands. Her formative years in the Bahamas deeply defined her identity and appreciation for the beauty of the land and sea.
At seventeen, Emma earned a scholarship to attend Vassar College in New York, where she studied Anthropology and Fine Art. Her interest in aesthetics and human connectedness was an extension of her childhood impressions and remarkable natural environment. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree, Emma lived and worked in Manhattan as a paralegal in a prominent litigation and bankruptcy law firm, gaining a familiarity with the processes of law which continues to serve her.
Emma’s strong and maturing interest in aesthetics evolved toward design and architecture, and the pull of her Caribbean roots brought her closer to home: to Palm Beach and Miami, where she worked as a junior interior designer specializing in Old World & Caribbean style residences. Her appreciation for architecture and visual style, combined with true insight into the geography of the Bahamas, gives Emma a practical edge in understanding structural integrity and visual elegance in the Bahamian elements. Emma brings all of this experience and an innate polished service to her career as a sales associate with HG Christie Ltd.
