Welcome to Flying W Ranch. Seated on 1,235 acres of expansive Oklahoma homeland. Flying W Ranch is a well-known guest ranch in a historic location where old-time cattle drives passed, and Indians hunted for centuries. Imagine playing event hosts on this entertainment compound, including your very own Old Western Town. Everything is on-site and ready for you to host weddings, corporate retreats or family gatherings, including all the accommodations. In the Old Western Town, you don't have to close your eyes to imagine what an old western town looks like - you can live it. Rustic buildings make up the on-site western town, including a Church, General Store, a restaurant and a 9,600 sqft indoor event center across the street. The restaurant has seating for 80 people and has room to add more tables if desired, perfect for any company retreat. The kitchen has gas stoves and ovens, stainless steel sinks and countertops with plenty of workspaces—the large walk-in freezer and convenient walk-in refrigerator help to accommodate many guests at a time. The Arena and Stage These rodeo grounds have everything you need to host your mud on your boots events, an outdoor stage, beautiful lighting, stands, bucking chutes and a barn with corrals. This arena was once used for the set of the CMT fifth season of Cowboy U, so you know it's ready for real Oklahoma rodeo action. Ranch Accommodations, your event guests can stay comfortably right on-site with 11 cabins, 10 RV campsites and two double-wide mobile homes. Servicing the 10 RV campsites is a community bathhouse and laundromat. Water is supplied to the ranch by community tap water, windmills and electric powered water wells. Ranch Historical Facts Within its acreage, Flying W Ranch has a \\\"Bison Jump\\\" site documented as the largest and most complex bison kill site by Indians on the Southern Plains. It was here, for a 600-year period, that the Plains Indians stampede herds of bison over a cliff and into a canyon as an efficient means of slaughter. The site is dated as being used by Native Americans between 300 BC and 300 AD. The Great Western Cattle Trail passed through here long ago. Used by many cattlemen to drive their herds north from Texas to railroad heads at Dodge City, Kansas. The terrain is composed of gently rolling grassland with ravines lined with cottonwood trees. Views at the top of some of the hills are as far as 50 miles in every direction. Wildlife Turkey, dove, quail, antelope and white-tailed deer call Flying W Ranch home. LocationFlying W Ranch is located about 90 miles west of Oklahoma City and 130 miles east of Amarillo, Texas. It is less than 15 minutes from historic Elk City, Oklahoma. The ranch is just a few miles to the North of I-40 and on a well-maintained hard surface Beckham County road.
