3 km from the centre of Formia, a small town in the province of Latina on the gulf of Gaeta, waterfront hotel with private beach and tennis court for sale.
Founded by the Laconians and important centre for fishing and tourism, the city was highly appreciated by Roman noblemen as a vacation site. Right inside the city, or right nearby, one can see the remains of the old city and the two villas of Mamurra and Maecenas. Even Cicero chose this area of the Gulf to build his own countryside residence and here he died in 43 b.C. while trying to avoid Antonios claws.
Strategically important, Formia was chosen during the Empire as a passage point for the Via Appia.
The hotel is just 3 km from the town centre, where all the services are available, 20 minutes from Gaeta and 30 minutes from Sperlonga (one of the most beautiful towns of Italy) where one can admire Tiberius villa.
Naples and Rome, with their respective airports, are just one and two hours away.
Particularly interesting is Formias harbor, not far from the property, where one can board ferry boats to the near island of Ponza and Ventotene.

DESCRIPTION OF THE BUILDINGS
The hotel, located inside a historical building by Amedeo Bordiga, has a total surface of 4,391 sqm (47,247 sqft) and is laid out onto five floors, of which one underground and four above ground. All the floors are connected both via a staircase and an elevator.
The basement is partially used as a storage with refrigerating room and cisterns for potable water. The other section hosts access to the beach (via elevator or staircase) complete with dressing room for clients and hygienical services.
On the ground floorwe have hall, living rooms, offices, hygienical services, ample restaurant with sea view, smaller priv restaurant with fireplace, kitchen, pastry shop and laundry.
On the first, second and third floor we find 51 bedrooms with en-suite bathroom and several linen storage rooms.
On the fourth floor there are 3 more bedrooms and an ample meeting hall with view over the gulf of Gaeta.

EXTERNAL AREA
The hotel is accessed via a nice walkway running along the garden, which is decorated with trees, tennis court and direct access to the private beach.
